Snake Pond, Forestdale, MA ~ Fri, July 23rd, 2004 ~6:30-7:30 am

View from the parking lot/put-in

Journal:

This trip was a 5 minute drive from our house. There were two other early-risers taking a dip as we arrived. The beach wasn't too clean (beer cans and possibly glass) but the water was clear and the distance from the parking spot to the sandy beach was about 20 feet.

There is a strange wind pattern at Snake pond that tries to push you in a spiral - that or our paddling was way off.

Once we got to the middle of the pond we coasted as a bank of fog blew through, obscuring most of the shoreline. Very peaceful apart from a solitary black colored goose "honking"  as he/she strutted about on the beach. The water was warm.

A great start to the day.
